About renyzo

Who we are, how our crews work and the principles behind every live feed we run from Stirling.

A Stirling crew for live broadcast work

renyzo was founded in 2012 in Stirling to run video operation and live signal management for television and news teams. The company has stayed focused on one thing: getting programmes to air cleanly. Fourteen years on, the work is still done by a small, experienced crew.

The company began with a simple observation. Broadcasters and event producers often had good cameras and good ideas, but little help with the technical chain that connects a venue to a transmission. We set out to fill that gap with a crew that understood both the creative and the engineering sides.

Over the years our work has grown to cover camera operation, vision mixing, signal routing and backup, content distribution and news feed packages. These are all parts of one process, which is why they are handled by people who talk to each other daily rather than by separate suppliers.

Our clients are broadcasters, event producers and production companies across Scotland and the wider UK. Some book us for a single news bulletin, others for a multi-camera concert or a festival site. In each case the working method is the same: plan the signal path, agree it in writing, then run it carefully.

Fiona MacLeod coordinates crews and schedules and has run outside broadcasts since the early years. Callum Reid designs signal paths and backup routes, Priya Sharma leads camera operation and trains new operators, and Ewan Campbell manages delivery to broadcasters and keeps feed schedules in order.

We stay deliberately modest in size. A smaller crew means the person you speak to during planning is the person on site, and the lessons from one job reach the next without passing through layers of management.

A good broadcast feels uneventful to the viewer. Our job is to do the careful work beforehand so that nothing interesting happens on air.

How we work

Working habits that protect your broadcast

Our method is built around preparation and clear communication. These habits shape how a job runs, from first call to final delivery, and they are the reason clients return for later programmes.

Services
  • Plan before equipment

We map the signal path first and choose equipment to suit it, rather than fitting the plan around whatever is in the van.

  • Backups agreed in advance

Second routes for the weakest points are drawn into the plan and tested on site before the programme goes live.

  • Open lines with the receiver

We speak directly to the broadcaster's technical team, so formats, timings and confirmations are settled before the day.

  • Written scope and handover

Quotations and job notes set out what was included, what was delivered and what could be improved next time.

Principles

What guides our work on every job

Live broadcast leaves little room for second attempts, so the principles behind our work have to hold up under pressure. They are not slogans on a wall but habits that decide how we plan, how we speak to clients and how we behave when something goes wrong. They shape each of the following.

  1. Reliability

Reliability means a feed that is still running when conditions change. We build backup routes into the signal plan, test them on site and keep an engineer watching throughout. It also means turning up on time, delivering files in the agreed format and doing what the quotation says we will do.

  2. Clarity

Clarity shows in how we write and speak. Quotations list what is included, signal plans are drawn so a producer can read them, and during a broadcast the crew uses short, agreed phrases. We would rather ask one more question during planning than guess on the day.

  3. Teamwork

Teamwork is how a small crew handles a large programme. Camera operators, engineers and distribution staff plan together, share one schedule and cover for each other on site. Experienced operators train newer ones, so standards stay consistent from one job to the next.
