Experiences from recent productions

These comments come from producers, editors and organisers who relied on our crews. They describe what mattered to them on the day.

Morag Henderson Producer, regional television programme

“The crew arrived early, tested every route and told us plainly where the weak point was. When a link dropped during the live show, the backup took over and we stayed on air. That calm approach is why we book them again.”

Alasdair Burnett News editor, broadcast newsroom

“We needed clean clips with proper metadata for a morning bulletin, and they arrived in the format we asked for. Questions about file standards were answered the same day. It made our editing desk's work much easier.”

Kirsty Donaldson Event producer, outdoor music festival

“Four cameras across a festival stage, and the director always had a usable shot. Priya's operators were calm and clear on the talkback, and the feed to our partners went out without a hitch.”

Graham Lindsay Production manager, independent production company

“The written quotation was clear about what was included and what could change the cost. There were no surprises on the invoice, and the crew did exactly what had been agreed beforehand.”

Why it matters

What clients value most in a feed partner

Across the comments above, the same few points come up. They describe what producers and editors look for when handing a live programme to an outside crew.

Calm under pressure

Live broadcast rarely goes exactly to plan, and clients notice how a crew reacts when something shifts. A short, clear message on the talkback and a backup route that is ready matter more than any promise made in advance. Our engineers rehearse failures as well as normal running, so that a dropped link becomes a routine switch rather than a crisis. Producers tell us this is what they remember afterwards.

Clear communication

Producers want to know who is responsible for what, and when decisions are needed. We name a contact for each job, confirm the plan in writing and keep the line open on the day. Questions from broadcasters about formats or timings go to one person, who answers or finds the answer quickly. Fewer people in the conversation means fewer misunderstandings.

Honest paperwork

A written quotation that lists the services included, and says what could change the cost, builds trust before any equipment is moved. Clients tell us they value invoices that match the quotation and a payment policy they can read in advance. We keep it plain: an enquiry, a written confirmation, then an invoice for payment by bank transfer.
